NinjaTrader SuperDOM explained

SuperDOM is NinjaTrader desktop's visual Depth of Market window. It combines a price ladder with market-depth display and order or position controls, so data quality and order settings must be checked before use.

At a glance

  • SuperDOM is available from Control Center > New as Static or Dynamic SuperDOM.
  • DOM means Depth of Market and appears in the buy and sell columns of the price ladder.
  • Properties include the number of market-depth levels and visual or trade-control settings.
  • Custom columns use NinjaScript-specific APIs and are outside Pineify's supported single-file Indicator or Strategy boundary.

Direct answer

Open SuperDOM from the NinjaTrader Control Center New menu and choose Static SuperDOM or Dynamic SuperDOM. The official guide describes the window as a price ladder with buy and sell columns for Depth of Market, plus order and position management. Depth depends on the provider, while Pineify does not provide DOM data, account access, or order execution.

Open the correct SuperDOM window

The official SuperDOM guide directs users to the Control Center New menu, where Static SuperDOM and Dynamic SuperDOM can be selected. Choose the window that matches the intended price-ladder workflow and then select the instrument.

A SuperDOM window is tied to the selected instrument and connection. Confirm the symbol, contract expiry, trading hours, and data provider before interpreting the ladder.

  • Open SuperDOM from the official Control Center menu.
  • Choose Static or Dynamic and select the intended instrument.
  • Confirm the active connection and account before changing order settings.

Read the price ladder and market depth

NinjaTrader defines DOM as Depth of Market and displays it in the SuperDOM buy and sell columns. The ladder organizes prices so bid, ask, last trade, and working-order information can be viewed in one window.

The visible depth is not a universal view of every order in a market. The provider must supply depth, and the SuperDOM properties determine how many market-depth levels are displayed.

Configure columns and properties deliberately

The official columns guide explains that additional columns can be added, removed, reordered, resized, and edited from the Columns window. NinjaTrader includes system columns for values such as PnL, approximate position in queue, volume, and notes.

SuperDOM Properties includes settings for market-depth levels, auto-centering, order colors, trade-control placement, and other display choices. Treat a template as a saved interface configuration, not as a risk-control guarantee.

  • Add only columns needed for the decision being tested.
  • Review units, reset behavior, and trading-hours settings for volume or PnL columns.
  • Save a separate template for simulation or review before changing a live workspace.

Order controls need independent verification

SuperDOM includes controls for submitting, modifying, cancelling, and managing orders and positions. A ladder display can update quickly, but a visible price or order state does not remove latency, slippage, rejection, or connection risk.

Test order behavior in simulation and read the active account and ATM settings before using any order-entry control. Never treat a screenshot, generated script, or static check as proof of a live fill.

Pineify does not provide SuperDOM

Pineify does not provide a SuperDOM window, DOM or Level II data, NinjaTrader account access, broker connectivity, order management, or execution. Pineify can generate supported single-file NinjaTrader 8 Indicator or Strategy source code for review.

The NinjaTrader Help Guide documents a separate SuperDOM Column development API. That specialized AddOn-style workflow is not evidence that Pineify generates custom DOM columns or other multi-file platform extensions.
