Up to 100 returned articles, displayed 20 per page. Load or Refresh requests a batch; no automatic updates. Retrieval time is not publication time; the server may reuse a response for five minutes.

Read the source behind the headline

This page requests general financial news through Financial Modeling Prep's General News endpoint. Headlines and snippets are third-party content. Pineify does not verify every article, produce these summaries, or promise a fixed set of publishers. A missing story may reflect provider coverage or the batch limit.

What Load, Refresh and Next actually do

The first request asks for up to 100 articles. The feed keeps provider order and removes duplicate source URLs. Previous and Next show slices of that loaded batch, 20 articles at a time; they do not fetch older provider pages. Refresh replaces the batch. The server cache lasts five minutes, so repeated requests may return the same response.

The retrieval timestamp uses your browser's local time. Publication dates stay in the provider's original format because an offset may not be supplied. A later retrieval does not mean a story is new or that its facts changed. Open the original source to check updates, corrections and its stated timezone.

Keep a reproducible research snapshot

  1. Record the headline, source URL and publication timestamp before interpreting a price reaction.
  2. Check whether the story cites a company filing, official statistical release or other primary document. Distinguish estimates from released figures and commentary from reported facts.
  3. Use Export loaded CSV to save every loaded row, including those on other local pages. The text column is the supplied snippet, not the full original article. Note the retrieval time separately if it matters to your research.
  4. Compare the source with other evidence. Syndicated or repeated stories are not independent confirmation; a headline alone does not determine a position size or trade direction.

Access and coverage limits

This feed has no registration requirement, but original publishers may use paywalls or change links. A failed request is shown as an error and clears the previous batch. An empty response means no eligible articles were returned, not that no market events occurred. The feed does not send alerts, score sentiment, execute trades or supply a historical news backtest.

General news questions

What does this feed contain?

A batch of general financial news headlines, provider snippets, publisher labels and links supplied by Financial Modeling Prep. Availability and publisher mix vary; this is not a complete record of all news.

Does the feed update automatically?

No. It requests data on page load and when you press Refresh. Pineify caches the provider response for five minutes. Refresh can return the same articles; no publication-to-display latency is guaranteed.

What does Export loaded CSV include?

All loaded articles across the local pages, not just the visible 20 rows. The CSV contains title, publisher, raw provider publication date, site, optional symbol, snippet and source URL. It is a snapshot, not the full provider archive.

Are original articles free?

The feed can be browsed without registration here. Original publishers set their own access terms and may require subscriptions. A snippet is not the complete article, and exporting it does not grant redistribution rights.

What timezone is the publication date in?

The card preserves the provider timestamp as supplied. When it contains no timezone offset, this page does not invent one or display a relative age. Check the original publisher before comparing an article with a price move.

How should I verify a headline?

Open the source, check publication and update times, distinguish reporting from opinion, and follow any linked company filing or official release. Several outlets can repeat one report; article counts are not independent confirmation or a trading signal.

Record what you knew at the time

Keep a source URL, event time and your interpretation in Trading Journal. Compare that note with later outcomes without rewriting the original hypothesis. This feed does not automatically import articles into your journal or trade on headlines.
