What Alligator measures

Williams Alligator compares three shifted smoothed averages of median price with the latest close. Pineify reports an ordered bullish, bearish, or neutral state.

Calculation

Pineify receives the reported indicator fields from its TradingView Alert pipeline. The calculation follows this method:

Jaw = RMA(HL2, 13) from 8 bars ago; Teeth = RMA(HL2, 8) from 5 bars ago; Lips = RMA(HL2, 5) from 3 bars ago. These historical values correspond to the forward-shifted lines at the current bar; no future prices are used.

The page leaves missing readings unavailable. It does not fill a gap with an estimate or a browser-side calculation.

How to use this scan

Use this screen to review a watchlist before deciding whether to investigate a chart. Use the state as a daily trend filter before examining the three lines on a chart.

1Start in All, then search a reference symbol such as AAPL, SPY, or BTCUSDT. Verify liquidity separately.
2Compare the Alligator reading with other Symbols in the same market collection.
3Open the chart to check price structure, volume and data timing before making a decision.

Reading the Alligator signals

Read the value in context. A single daily result can narrow the list, but it cannot replace a chart review.

Bullish requires close > Lips > Teeth > Jaw.

Bearish requires close < Lips < Teeth < Jaw.

Neutral means the lines are mixed or the trend rule is not active.

Where the signal can fail

The feed provides only the final state and does not expose the Jaw, Teeth or Lips values.

Alligator cannot predict future prices. Confirm the setup and define your risk before acting.

Why are the shorter timeframes locked?+

The public page requests the daily timeframe only. The full Screener supports 4-hour, 2-hour, 1-hour, 30-minute, 15-minute, 5-minute, and 1-minute readings. Sign-in is required, and symbol visibility and access depend on your plan.

How often is the Alligator data refreshed?+

The public API caches each indicator response for up to four hours. The table shows when its current cached response was created, although the underlying daily bar may be older when a market is closed.
