What Range Breakout measures

Range position places the latest close between the 20-bar low and high including the current bar. The separate breakout state compares the close with the previous 20 bars, excluding the current bar.

Calculation

Pineify receives the reported indicator fields from its TradingView Alert pipeline. The calculation follows this method:

Range position = (close - lowest low over 20 periods) / (highest high over 20 periods - lowest low over 20 periods), including the current bar. A zero range returns an unavailable value.

The page leaves missing readings unavailable. It does not fill a gap with an estimate or a browser-side calculation.

How to use this scan

Use this screen to review a watchlist before deciding whether to investigate a chart. Use it to shortlist markets pressing against a recent range edge before checking volume and the next resistance or support area.

Reading the Range Breakout signals

Read the value in context. A single daily result can narrow the list, but it cannot replace a chart review.

A reading near 100 percent puts the close near the recent range high.

A reading near 0 percent puts the close near the recent range low.

The state is bullish when the close exceeds the previous 20-bar high, bearish below the previous 20-bar low, and neutral otherwise, including equality or missing inputs. It does not prove continuation.

Where the signal can fail

Breakouts can fail quickly, and the fixed 20 period window may not match every trading horizon.

Range Breakout cannot predict future prices. Confirm the setup and define your risk before acting.

Can Range Breakout predict the next price move?+

No. Range Breakout is calculated from reported market data and cannot predict the next move or guarantee a profitable trade. It can help you sort a watchlist for further research.

What timeframe does the Breakout Screener use?+

This public page shows daily data only. Each visible Range Breakout reading comes from the latest daily snapshot returned by Pineify's TradingView Alert pipeline.

Why are the shorter timeframes locked?+

The public page requests the daily timeframe only. The full Screener supports 4-hour, 2-hour, 1-hour, 30-minute, 15-minute, 5-minute, and 1-minute readings. Sign-in is required, and symbol visibility and access depend on your plan.

How often is the Range Breakout data refreshed?+

The public API caches each indicator response for up to four hours. The table shows when its current cached response was created, although the underlying daily bar may be older when a market is closed.
