Pineify shows the latest daily values reported through its TradingView Alert pipeline. This page does not recalculate the indicator in the browser. It is an information tool, not investment advice.

What Choppiness 14 measures

The Choppiness Index measures whether recent price movement is directional or spread across a range. It does not choose a bullish or bearish direction.

Calculation

Pineify receives the reported indicator fields from its TradingView Alert pipeline. The calculation follows this method:

CHOP 14 = 100 x log10(sum of true range over 14 / (highest high 14 - lowest low 14)) / log10(14).

The page leaves missing readings unavailable. It does not fill a gap with an estimate or a browser-side calculation.

How to use this scan

At Pineify, we use this screen as a watchlist check, not as a trade instruction. Use CHOP to decide whether a trend or range setup deserves closer chart review.

  1. 1We start in All, then search a liquid reference such as AAPL, SPY, or BTCUSDT.
  2. 2We compare the Choppiness 14 reading with other Symbols in the same market collection.
  3. 3We open the chart to confirm price structure and volume before making a decision.

Reading the Choppiness 14 signals

Read the value in context. A single daily result can narrow the list, but it cannot replace a chart review.

1

A reading below 38.2 points to a more directional market.

2

A reading above 61.8 points to a choppier market.

3

A middle reading shows a mixed regime without a directional signal.

Where the signal can fail

CHOP measures regime, not direction. It can remain high or low after price behavior starts changing.

Choppiness 14 cannot predict future prices. Confirm the setup and define your risk before acting.
