What Are Company Notes?
Corporate notes are debt instruments with issue-specific interest and repayment terms. This page uses FMP's company-notes endpoint to display CIK, symbol, title, and exchange. A title may mention a coupon and maturity, but it is not a full prospectus, debt schedule, or current trading quote.
For an illustrative fixed-rate note with $1,000 face value and a 3.05% annual coupon, scheduled interest totals $30.50 per year before tax. Payment frequency comes from the issue terms; 3.05% is not necessarily the return on the market price. Floating-rate and zero-coupon structures work differently. The SEC corporate bond bulletin explains these distinctions and default and call risks. Check the prospectus for exact maturity, payment schedule, and redemption provisions.
