What is a CIK Number?

A Central Index Key (CIK) is a unique identification number assigned by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to every entity that files documents through the EDGAR system. CIK numbers are used to identify publicly traded companies, mutual funds, and individual filers in the SEC's database. For example, Apple Inc. has the CIK number 0000320193. Our free CIK lookup tool allows you to search by CIK number to retrieve available company name, symbol, exchange, and currency fields from Financial Modeling Prep. Coverage and returned fields depend on the provider.

Pineify returns company-oriented market fields for convenient research; it is not the SEC's official filer record. Verify the filer identity and filing history through the SEC EDGAR CIK Lookup, especially when researching funds, individuals, historical entities, or formal filings.

This page uses the FMP search-cik endpoint, not a direct SEC data feed. An empty response does not prove that a filer or filing does not exist. Verify the numeric identifier and company name in EDGAR before joining records across sources.

Continue Researching the Company

Review company research with Pineify. A CIK identifies a filer; it is not a trading signal or evidence that a security is suitable for a strategy. Product access depends on the selected plan.
