What Are As Reported Financial Statements?
This page displays the fields returned by FMP’s as-reported financial statement endpoint. The response groups financial facts under a fiscal year, period, date and reporting currency. It is a provider extraction, not the original SEC filing, and does not include every footnote or XBRL context. Use it to locate candidate fields, then verify material figures against EDGAR.
How to Use This As Reported Financial Statements Tool
- 1
Enter a Stock Symbol
Type a supported ticker symbol (e.g., AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL) in the Symbol field to request available extracted records. The initial AAPL request uses a limit of 10; set a whole-number limit from 1 to 100.
- 2
Select the Reporting Period
Choose the provider annual or quarterly filter. Confirm the actual fiscal period in the result. A quarterly record can contain year-to-date cash-flow facts; it does not make every field a three-month flow.
- 3
Explore the Raw Data
Use the row’s expand button to inspect selected highlights and all returned field keys. Export includes the full current response, not just the five visible records. Refresh may reuse the route’s one-hour cache.
Why As Reported Financial Data Matters
Traceable Field Keys
Exact provider keys make it easier to search for a matching concept in the original filing. Extraction errors, revisions and absent tags remain possible.
Available Detail
Expand the returned dictionary instead of assuming the summary columns contain every relevant fact. Missing fields are not zero and do not prove the company omitted a disclosure.
Historical Comparison
Before comparing dates, check currency, unit, duration and restatements. A balance-sheet instant and a cash-flow duration cannot be interpreted in the same way.
Key Data Points in As Reported Statements
The following are categories to look for when supplied by the provider. Availability varies by company and filing; this is not a guaranteed list of fields. Monetary values, share counts and per-share figures have different units.
Income Statement
- Revenue and cost of goods sold
- Operating expenses (R&D, SG&A)
- Operating income and net income
- Earnings per share (basic and diluted)
Balance Sheet
- Current and non-current assets
- Current and non-current liabilities
- Stockholders' equity and retained earnings
- Shares outstanding and authorized
Cash Flow Statement
- Operating, investing, and financing cash flows
- Capital expenditures and acquisitions
- Dividends paid and stock repurchases
- Debt issuance and repayment
Additional Disclosures
- Tax breakdowns (federal, state, foreign)
- Lease obligations and right-of-use assets
- Share-based compensation details
- Debt maturity schedules and interest rates
As Reported vs. Standardized Financial Statements
Standardized statements map fields to a common template. As-reported keys can preserve more issuer-specific distinctions, but this flat response still omits contextual information needed for rigorous comparison. For example, two cash-flow values with the same period-end date may cover different durations; subtracting them without checking start dates can be wrong. Verify original units and periods, then document any mapping or derived quarterly amount.
