Practical Routine

Separate the Announcement from the Price Response

A chart can describe market behavior, but cannot validate a rumor, a filing or an earnings calculation.

1

Step 1: Read the Original Source

Record the publication time and issuer. Open the source release or filing and distinguish a reported event from commentary, a correction or a rumor. Check whether the item repeats an earlier announcement before calling it a new catalyst.

2

Step 2: Inspect the Market Observation

For a supported listing, review technical fields on your chosen interval and session. Preserve the observation time and verify the chart. RSI or relative volume cannot prove that the news is true or predict the execution price; an unfinished bar can change after the observation.

An Earnings Headline Needs a Comparable Basis

Suppose a fictional company reports adjusted EPS of $1.20 against an adjusted consensus estimate of $1.10 for the same quarter. The arithmetic difference is $0.10, or about 9.1% of the estimate. That does not mean the stock should rise 9.1%. Revenue, guidance, prior expectations and the price already paid are separate inputs.

If the $1.20 figure is adjusted EPS while $1.10 is a GAAP estimate, the comparison is not on the same basis. Read the release's reconciliation and confirm the period and units. A green chart or an RSI reading cannot repair that mismatch.

Test the Information Workflow Before Paying

For an audio workflow, check that the selected Squawk channel is playing and connected, and that its hours cover your intended session. Then trace several announcements back to their sources. For a screening workflow, save a rule and verify why a specific stock is included. These checks test usefulness for your task; they do not establish a trading edge or a headline-speed ranking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What distinguishes Benzinga Pro from Finviz?

Benzinga Pro organizes news, audio updates, event calendars and scanning in workspaces. Finviz combines stock and ETF filtering with maps, charts and aggregated headlines. Both provide research tools; this review does not establish a speed or profitability winner.

Does Benzinga Pro include technical scanning?

Yes. Its handbook describes a real-time Scanner, configurable result columns and linked charts that can show different timeframes. It would be inaccurate to describe the product as only a newsfeed or a basic price filter. Check which tools your plan includes.

Is every Squawk channel included in Essential?

No. Equity Squawk and High Beta Squawk are different feeds. Current pricing lists High Beta as a $99/month add-on, even though Essential includes the Streamlined features. Verify the channel and the full subscription total before purchase.

How should I compare prices?

Compare the plan that contains your required feature, not the cheapest advertised seat. Finviz annual billing has a lower monthly equivalent than its monthly plan; Benzinga has distinct Basic, Streamlined and Essential tiers. Prices and the Essential annual commitment are shown in the comparison table.

Can Pineify confirm a news headline or execute a trade?

No. A technical reading cannot verify a corporate announcement. Market Screener supplies supported indicator readings in a separate watchlist; it does not import Benzinga or Finviz rules, export a Pine strategy or route orders. Full access requires a Pineify account and Expert or higher.
