What this stock picks screener selects
The screen combines company-field filters with Financial Modeling Prep analyst consensus and target prices. It evaluates at most the first 50 matches returned by the company screener. It then retains Buy or Strong Buy consensus rows whose valid target-price gap is at least 15%, and sorts that subset by the gap. A company outside those first matches is not evaluated.
Choose and apply explicit rules
- Choose a preset or edit sector, minimum market cap, price, and reported volume. Advanced controls add maximum price, annual dividend per share, exchange, and country. Presets and Reset change the fields; Apply Current Screen requests results.
- Read the preset literally: the first two use 2B/1M and 5B/500K market-cap/volume minima. They do not measure revenue growth, momentum, earnings quality, or undervaluation. The dividend preset requests an annual per-share amount above 3, not a yield above 3%.
- The 50B preset changes size and volume thresholds. The 300M–2B preset also sets an upper market-cap bound; the panel shows that bound and lets you remove it. These rules do not guarantee executable liquidity or future growth.
- Check the number of screened symbols, returned quotes, and incomplete analyst rows. Missing data and failed per-symbol requests can remove candidates. No results does not prove that the entire market fails the rules.
Interpret the target gap and units
Target gap = (consensus target − quote price) / quote price × 100. A target of 130 and a price of 100 gives 30%, but this is not an achieved return or probability of appreciation. A stale target can create a large gap after a price fall. Verify publication dates, forecast horizons, and matching listing and currency before comparing targets.
The annual-dividend filter uses an amount per share. Dividend yield would require dividing an appropriate annual dividend by the matching price; this screen does not fetch or calculate that yield, so the result column says Unavailable. It also does not display EPS or 52-week highs and lows despite those fields appearing in the underlying quote type.
Data timing and next checks
Requests run when the page opens or you apply filters. Server caches are 2 minutes for screening, 30 seconds for quotes, and 1 hour for analyst ratings and targets; upstream delays may add to these. The result joins separately cached fields and is not a synchronized real-time feed. No average-volume lookback or historical backtest runs here.
This public tool does not require a paid plan. A Buy or Strong Buy label summarizes the provider’s analyst data; it is not an instruction to buy aggressively. Review company filings, spreads, and portfolio exposure separately. Symbol links open the quote lookup, where you enter the ticker.
