Compare Timeframes Without Treating Agreement as Probability

A daily trend can differ from an intraday move because the bars cover different intervals. This page places three rule-based summaries side by side. It does not demonstrate that an aligned reading wins more often, nor does disagreement establish that a price move is false.

Check the Data Before the Score

  1. Enter a provider symbol or select a shortcut, then Analyze. Shortcuts populate the input; they are not recommendations or guarantees of data coverage.
  2. Read each card’s provider bar date. Within a timeframe the four indicators use the newest date common to all responses, which can be older than the newest row in one response. Across timeframes, bar dates need not match.
  3. Inspect price, SMA(20), EMA(20), RSI(14) and ADX(14). Price uses the instrument’s quote currency. Timezone and closed-bar status are not supplied by this interface.
  4. Trace the points back to the rules below. Re-run after data updates if needed; the tool does not stream updates and the backend caches these requests for 15 minutes.

The Exact Classification Rules

  • SMA and EMA: price more than 0.5% above an average votes bullish; more than 0.5% below votes bearish; the boundary and values between are neutral.
  • RSI: 50 < RSI < 70 votes bullish; 30 < RSI < 50 votes bearish. Other values, including the boundaries, vote neutral. An extreme reading is not automatically a reversal.
  • Direction: at least two of the SMA, EMA and RSI votes must agree. Otherwise the timeframe is neutral. ADX does not determine direction.
  • Points: directional classifications start at 50; add 15 for each aligned moving average, 10 for aligned RSI and 10 when ADX is at least 25. A neutral timeframe displays 50 rule points but adds zero to the overall directional score.
  • Alignment: sum signed timeframe points with daily/4H/1H weights of 0.40/0.35/0.25, then round. “All Bullish” or “All Bearish” requires all three directional labels to agree; it is not defined by a score threshold alone.

A Reproducible Interpretation Check

In a hypothetical timeframe, price 102 with SMA 100 and EMA 101 gives two bullish MA votes. RSI 60 adds a bullish vote; ADX 20 adds no bonus. The timeframe has 90 points. Three such bullish timeframes produce +90 overall. This is arithmetic under the chosen rules, not a 90% win probability.

Limitations and a Testing Workflow

The indicators are related transformations of price; the three timeframes also overlap. Agreement is not three independent pieces of evidence. Define entry, exit, costs, position sizing and closed-bar handling before comparing an aligned rule with a baseline over the same historical period. Keep a later period untouched for evaluation and report trade count, drawdown and costs, not only win rate.

The page does not run that backtest. It also does not verify that a provider bar is complete, calculate execution prices, estimate a success probability or send orders. Missing indicator values produce an error instead of an invented neutral reading.

Data contract: FMP technical-indicator documentation. Indicator definitions describe the inputs; the voting thresholds and weights above are this page’s own heuristic, not an FMP rating or validated trading model.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the analyzer compare?

It requests FMP SMA(20), EMA(20), RSI(14) and ADX(14) for daily, 4-hour and 1-hour bars. Each timeframe uses the newest date present in all four responses. If values are missing or invalid, it shows an error rather than filling them with zero or neutral values.

How are bullish and bearish labels assigned?

Price more than 0.5% above or below each moving average gives a bullish or bearish vote. RSI strictly between 50 and 70 votes bullish; strictly between 30 and 50 votes bearish. RSI at 30, 50, 70 or outside those intervals votes neutral. Two of those three votes set the timeframe direction.

What do the points mean?

A directional timeframe starts at 50 points, adds 15 each for aligned SMA and EMA, 10 for aligned RSI, and 10 if ADX is at least 25. Neutral gets 50 points but contributes zero to the overall signed score. Daily, 4H and 1H weights are 40%, 35% and 25%. These are chosen rules, not a statistical confidence scale.

Does agreement improve win rate?

No win-rate improvement has been established for this page. Indicators and timeframes share price data, so their agreement is not independent confirmation. A complete trading rule requires separate testing with costs, execution assumptions and later unseen data.

Are all quotes live and complete?

No. Pineify caches these indicator requests for 15 minutes, and provider coverage and update timing vary. The displayed provider bar date does not certify a closed bar or a timezone. Forex and crypto shortcuts are query examples, not guaranteed data coverage.
