What Are Financial Ratios?
Ratios relate financial statement amounts to one another or to market prices. A gross margin describes profit relative to revenue; a valuation multiple relates a market value to earnings, assets, or cash flow. These measures help organize research, but differing business models, accounting policies, and reporting periods can make comparisons misleading.
How to Use the Lookup
- Enter a supported ticker and select annual or quarterly data. Choose an integer limit from 1 to 100 reporting periods; a blank limit uses 20.
- Select Search. The submitted-query label identifies the data request. Editing a filter does not change the displayed query until you search again.
- Scroll horizontally to inspect the 59 configured numeric fields. The table shows 20 records per page; missing values are dashes.
- Export CSV to download every returned record, including other table pages. The file contains raw decimals, not the formatted percentage strings shown on screen.

Profitability
Gross, operating, EBIT, EBITDA, and net margins use different profit measures. Margins alone do not establish cash generation or earnings quality. A hypothetical 30 of gross profit on 100 of revenue is a 30% gross margin.
Valuation
P/E, P/B, P/S, PEG, and EV/EBITDA use different denominators. Negative earnings or very small book equity can make a multiple unhelpful. A provider field named Price to Fair Value is not an independent valuation or a recommendation.
Liquidity
Current assets divided by current liabilities gives the current ratio. Values above one are not a guarantee of timely payments: inventory quality, receivable collection, and financing access matter. Quick and cash ratios use narrower asset measures.
Leverage and coverage
Debt, total liabilities, and net debt are different quantities. For the checked AAPL fiscal 2025 data, total debt of 112.377 billion divided by equity of 73.733 billion equals about 1.5241, matching the returned debt-to-equity ratio. Total liabilities divided by equity would be about 3.8722. Do not interchange those definitions.
Efficiency and cash flow
Turnover and cash-flow coverage ratios depend on whether the provider uses period-end or average balances and on the length of the period. Negative working capital can produce a negative turnover without explaining the business by itself.
Per-share amounts and yields
Per-share figures display the reported currency rather than assuming USD. Dividend yield appears both as a decimal and as a percentage. Missing currency is shown explicitly. The CSV preserves zero and negative values without interpreting them as investment signals.
Check Definitions Before Drawing a Conclusion
FMP supplies the ratios; Pineify formats and exports the response. The API may return fewer periods than requested. A one-hour cache can delay newly available data, and a reporting-period date does not identify the price timestamp used in a valuation multiple. Historical rows are not a point-in-time dataset for a trading backtest.
Some provider fields can be zero when the underlying ratio needs investigation. For example, a zero interest-coverage value does not by itself prove that a company cannot pay interest. Check the financial statement and the denominator. The provider's general formula reference can also differ from a current endpoint definition, so reconcile important ratios against their inputs.
This page does not determine a fair stock price, predict returns, or import the displayed dataset into Pine Script. Financial research involves uncertainty; ratios are evidence to investigate, not buy or sell instructions.
