A directory of provider industry names
This list comes from Financial Modeling Prep's available-industries endpoint. It contains names such as the provider's documented Steel example. It does not claim to combine every exchange taxonomy, certify company classifications or supply a mapping to GICS, ICB, NAICS or SIC.
Browse and export the labels
- The page requests the directory on load and displays up to 20 names at a time. Row numbers identify positions in this response, not permanent industry codes.
- Use Previous and Next to inspect other pages. The count describes the returned list, not the total number of industries worldwide.
- Export This Page downloads only the visible rows. The filename includes the page number. Text is quoted and escaped for CSV; formula-like spreadsheet text is prefixed with an apostrophe.
- Refresh resets to the first page. A server cache can preserve the upstream response for 24 hours, so refresh does not guarantee newly changed classifications.
Use classifications without overstating them
Keep the provider context
Store the label and retrieval date with your research. Names can change, and different vendors can group the same company differently.
Verify company membership
This list contains no tickers, company counts or parent-sector field. Obtain dated company profiles before using a name to construct a peer set.
Compare economic exposure
An industry name is not a return series or diversification score. Check revenue sources, valuation conventions, geography and shared risk drivers before treating companies as comparable.
Malformed responses display a load error instead of becoming an empty successful list. A genuinely empty response still does not prove that no industries exist. No company screening, rotation calculation or order placement occurs on this page.
