Read the quote before comparing prices
Enter one U.S. stock symbol and select Search. Check that the returned symbol matches, then read the quote timestamp in UTC. Refresh sends another request; it does not start a live stream. The server caches this endpoint for 30 seconds, and the provider may return delayed, stale or unavailable data.
Prices, sizes and spread
Bid and ask are the prices reported by the provider for this record. They are not a guaranteed executable price or proof of a consolidated best quote across all venues. Sizes are displayed in the provider's reported units without conversion into shares or round lots. A large displayed size does not establish a trader's identity, intent or lasting demand.
When both prices are positive and ask is at least bid, this page computes spread = ask − bid. For hypothetical bid 100.10 and ask 100.25, the spread is 0.15 in the quoted price units. A missing side or crossed quote has no calculated spread. A narrower spread alone does not establish sufficient depth for your order.
Volume and time are separate fields
Volume is the value returned in the quote response. This page does not establish its accumulation window, so it is not labeled after-hours-only volume. The timestamp is the provider's Unix millisecond quote time, converted to UTC; it is not the moment you pressed Refresh. CSV export includes the available response rows and their UTC quote times.
Extended-hours limits
Trading hours depend on the venue, broker, calendar and instrument. Extended-hours markets can have lower liquidity, wider spreads and prices that differ across systems. An old quote is not a forecast of the next opening price. Confirm session availability and any intended order with your broker; this page does not submit orders.
