Edgewonk alternative: journal behavior and reconcile trade results

Edgewonk combines performance analytics with psychology and routine tracking. Pineify offers trading-journal and strategy-analysis workflows alongside code development. Compare the records you need to keep and the analysis you can reproduce; neither a journal score nor a simulated outcome proves a profitable trading edge.

What Edgewonk documents

Its official site describes Chart Lab, Psychology Lab and Edge Finder, with trade reports, notes, checklists and automated imports. Its pricing page includes risk and drawdown analysis, performance simulation and strategy testing. Calling it a psychology-only product understates these documented functions.

What to compare in Pineify

The current Trading Journal app includes history, statistics, calendar, setups, diaries, sessions, plans and reports behind an account workflow. Its Backtesting Analysis tool addresses exported strategy results. This does not establish that every broker import, Edgewonk note or TradingView annotation will migrate automatically.

Reconcile records before interpreting statistics

Start with a small sample containing a partial exit, a fee and an overnight trade. Compare entry and exit quantities, timestamps, realized profit and fees with the broker statement. Decide whether a trade means a fill, a completed position or a grouped strategy before comparing win rates.

  • Preserve the original export and document timezone and currency conversions.
  • Check how open positions, deposits and withdrawals affect equity and return calculations.
  • Compare behavior tags and screenshots separately from numeric trade fields; a CSV may not carry them.

Separate behavior observations from statistical evidence

A note about breaking a rule can help review a decision. A higher average return for one tag is an association within your sample. It may reflect market conditions, trade size or a small number of outliers. Define the proposed rule before evaluating it on a separate period; repeated filtering can select an accidental pattern.

Check access and billing conditions

Edgewonk currently describes an annual subscription and says journal login ends after cancellation of the subscription period. Check export options before switching. Its web service is described as accessible on phones, tablets and computers; absence of a particular native app would not imply no mobile access. Compare current checkout terms with the Pineify plan required for your workflow rather than a fixed multi-year savings promise.

A migration acceptance checklist

Keep both records until a sample reconciles. Record which fields transfer, which need manual reconstruction and which are unavailable. Test one report against a hand calculation. This page does not claim a ten-minute migration, automatic TradingView synchronization or a measured improvement in trading results.
