Add Support / Resistance Level

What Are Support and Resistance Levels?

Support and resistance are areas identified from historical price reactions. Traders may label an area as support after declines pause there, or resistance after advances stall. These labels do not establish future buying or selling pressure: either area can fail on the next visit.

This tool plots imported closes and your manual horizontal annotations. It does not detect levels, calculate volume profiles, backtest trades or connect to a broker. Keep each file in one instrument and price unit; the chart does not infer currency.

How to Use This Support Resistance Visualizer

  1. 1

    Upload Your Price Data

Export historical price data from your broker or trading platform in CSV or JSON format. The file should contain at minimum a date column and close price. Download our sample file to see the exact format required.

  2. 2

    Identify Key Price Levels

Analyze the chart to identify areas where price has repeatedly bounced (support) or reversed (resistance). Look for horizontal zones where multiple touches occurred.

  3. 3

    Add Your Levels

Enter the price value, select whether it's support or resistance, and optionally add a descriptive label. Click "Add Level" to see it appear on the chart as a horizontal line.

  4. 4

    Manage and Export

Edit labels by clicking on them, remove levels you no longer need, or export the levels as a JSON record. That export excludes price history and cannot be reimported here. Browser storage saves the current chart when available; errors are shown above.

  5. 5

    Apply to Your Trading

Treat the annotated levels as hypotheses. Specify entry, invalidation and cost assumptions before evaluating them against later data in a separate backtest.

Why Use Our Support Resistance Visualizer?

Interactive Charts

Visualize your price data with smooth, responsive charts. See how your marked levels relate to historical price action.

Auto-Save Feature

Your price data and marked levels are automatically saved to your browser. Storage can be blocked or cleared and does not sync across devices.

Flexible Import

Convert your data to the shown CSV or JSON structure. Use valid ascending dates and finite positive prices; quoted CSV fields and malformed rows are rejected.

Export Analysis

Download your marked levels as a JSON record. This excludes chart data and is not a restorable chart backup.

Local File Parsing

The file parser and chart run in your browser without a file-upload API call. Browser storage is local to this site and browser; it is not a cloud backup.

Free to Use

No hidden fees, no subscriptions, no registration required. The chart and annotation controls require no paid plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are support and resistance levels?

They are price areas a chart reader identifies from historical reactions. A support or resistance annotation is a hypothesis about future behavior, not a barrier that price must respect. This tool does not detect levels or test their predictive value.

Can support become resistance and vice versa?

Role reversal is a chart-analysis hypothesis after a break. A later retest can hold or fail; drawing a line does not confirm either outcome.

How do I use this visualizer?

Upload chronological price data, then enter positive price levels and optional labels. Support lines are green and resistance lines are red; there is no custom color selector. New imports clear previous annotations to avoid mixing instruments. The initial dataset is synthetic.

What file formats are supported?

Use unquoted CSV with date and close columns, or a JSON array with those fields. Dates must be valid, unique and ascending; prices must be finite and positive. Optional open, high and low fields must be consistent. Files are limited to 2 MB and 5,000 rows. Invalid rows reject the import rather than being silently skipped.

What is saved or exported?

When browser storage is available, the current dataset and levels are saved in this browser. Clearing site data removes them, and they do not sync between devices. Export Levels downloads annotations only, without price history; it is not a file that this price-data importer can restore. File parsing runs locally without an upload API call.

Turn Your Level Rules into a Strategy Draft

Describe your rules to Pineify's coding tools, review the generated Pine Script and test simulated orders in TradingView. This chart does not transfer levels automatically or place live trades; live execution requires a separate integration.
