What This M&A Tracker Shows
Mergers combine businesses; acquisitions transfer ownership of a business or assets. Their legal structures and disclosure requirements differ. This tracker lists records supplied by Financial Modeling Prep, with company and target identifiers, a transaction date and a filing link when available. A row is a starting point for document research, not evidence that a transaction has completed.
Review a Record Before Using It
- Find the acquiring and targeted company names. Compare the CIK identifiers with the filing; similar names and changed tickers can refer to different entities.
- Open the filing and identify its form, parties and purpose. Read whether it describes a proposal, agreement, ownership disclosure or amendment. The table does not classify these stages.
- Separate the provider transaction date from the filing acceptance timestamp. Check the text and later issuer disclosures for announcement, approval, termination or closing dates.
- Export the loaded records to CSV and keep the filing links with your notes. Table pagination displays 20 rows at a time; the export includes the returned set, not the provider’s entire history.
Coverage and Refresh Limits
The page requests provider page 0 with a limit of 500 records. It does not request subsequent provider pages. Refresh repeats that request, subject to Pineify’s five-minute endpoint cache and the provider’s own update schedule. A missing record does not establish that no acquisition occurred.
What Further Analysis Requires
For a transaction review, record the cash or stock consideration, exchange ratio, financing, conditions and current status from original documents. None of those terms is calculated by this table. A proposed deal can change or fail, so a price gap alone does not establish an arbitrage return or a probability of completion.
