Growth Stock Scanner

Compare analyst ratings and the gap between quoted prices and consensus targets for up to 100 returned candidates. This rule-based scanner does not measure revenue growth, forecast returns or use AI to rank stocks.

Quotes and targets are raw provider values with unverified currency and split comparability. A larger gap is not a higher expected return. Rating coverage and target horizons may differ.

What the analyst screen can answer

This page asks which returned candidates have a Buy or Strong Buy consensus and an analyst target at least 15% above the fetched quote. It does not establish that those businesses are growing, that the targets are attainable, or that a higher gap makes a better investment. No AI model is called by this scanner.

Run a bounded comparison

  1. Choose the minimum market cap and volume, an optional sector and the candidate cap. These filters restrict the provider’s US-country candidate list; they do not guarantee liquidity or safety. Market-cap figures remain in provider units because no currency field is supplied.
  2. Select Scan. The provider’s first returned candidates are used, then analyst ratings and targets are checked. Results are sorted by the computed target-price gap, not by measured growth or return probability.
  3. Read the coverage summary. Missing quotes or analyst data cannot pass. A failed news request does not remove an otherwise matching row, but it leaves a visible warning.
  4. Open the returned news links and check the underlying reports. Counts are capped and have no shared date window, so they should not be compared as a momentum score.

Reproduce the target-price gap

Gap (%) = (consensus target ÷ quote price − 1) × 100. For a hypothetical price of 100 and a target of 115, the gap is 15%. At the same target and a price of 125, it is −8%. These examples assume a common currency and share-split basis; the quote and target endpoints used here do not establish that comparability.

The target can become stale when the company reports new information or undergoes a split. This page has no target publication date, analyst forecast horizon or target-currency field. Verify those details in the underlying research. Prices and targets are displayed without an assumed dollar sign.

The FMP target consensus documentation describes high, low, median and average analyst targets. The table uses the consensus target only. Its grades summary documentation describes rating-category counts; the scanner uses the supplied consensus label and shows counts when available, without assuming multiple analysts.

Distinguish news coverage from a trading signal

The stock-news endpoint returns articles for a symbol. This page requests up to 20, removes duplicate URLs and displays up to five links with the provider’s date text. It performs no sentiment analysis, catalyst detection or article-time normalization. Publisher access restrictions may apply.

Verify growth with statements

For revenue, EPS and margin comparisons, open the Growth Stock Finder. Keep the fiscal period, reporting currency and per-share basis consistent; a price-target gap cannot replace those checks.

Investor.gov’s analyst-recommendation guidance advises against relying solely on analyst recommendations and explains potential conflicts. Use the original research and company filings to evaluate assumptions. No backtest, historical success rate or suitability assessment is provided here.

Growth Stock Scanner FAQ

What does this growth stock scanner actually screen?

It requests actively traded non-fund, non-ETF candidates using the provider’s US country filter, market cap, volume and optional sector. From the first 25, 50 or 100 returned candidates, it keeps Buy or Strong Buy consensus ratings with a computed target-price gap of at least 15%. These are illustrative conditions, not validated investment rules or measurements of earnings growth.

Does the scanner use AI or predict returns?

No. Selection is deterministic filtering of provider data. The price-target gap is (consensus target / quote price − 1) × 100. It assumes comparable currency and split basis, which this feed does not verify. A target is an analyst estimate; a 15% gap is not an expected return, probability or time-bound promise.

How current are the inputs?

The page refreshes only when you run a scan. The application can cache candidate screens for two minutes, quotes for 30 seconds, analyst data for one hour and news for five minutes. Provider delays can add to these intervals. Retrieval time is shown separately from any supplied quote timestamp; target publication dates and forecast horizons are not supplied here.

What does the news count mean?

It counts valid, unique article URLs within at most 20 returned records per qualifying symbol; up to five links are shown. No common lookback window is requested. This is not sentiment, news momentum or a count of every article. A failed request is shown as unavailable rather than zero.

Why are some stocks missing?

The candidate limit applies before rating checks. Missing or invalid quotes, ratings or targets cannot qualify; the run summary counts these coverage gaps. No matches in a bounded run does not mean the whole market has no matches. The country filter is not an exchange or currency filter.

How can I check actual business growth?

Use financial statements to compare revenue, diluted EPS, margins and cash flow across comparable periods. The separate Growth Stock Finder offers those statement-based checks. Read the original analyst research and company filings before drawing conclusions from this scanner.

Check the financial assumptions behind a candidate

Compare the candidate’s reported revenue, EPS and margins before treating analyst optimism as evidence of growth. Keep missing data and unresolved filing questions in your research notes.
