A negative spread-minus-rebate amount omits other costs and is not trading profit. Confirm eligibility and rates with the provider.

Estimate a pip-based rebate scenario

This tool assumes a fixed rebate in pips per completed standard lot of 100,000 base units. Choose a pair and account currency, supply any required conversion rate, then set the spread and rebate assumptions. Presets are examples, not broker offers. Count only eligible completed trades under your program; do not count entry and exit again if the quoted rate already covers a round trip.

Recompute the amount

Position pip value in account currency = 100,000 × pip size × account units per quote unit. Rebate per lot = rebate pips × pip value. Monthly eligible lots = lots per completed trade × eligible trades per day × trading days. Multiply the two for the monthly scenario; multiply that by 12 only if assuming twelve identical months.

For EUR/USD in a USD account, one standard lot has USD 10 per pip. At an assumed 0.5-pip rebate, 1 lot × 5 completed trades × 22 days gives 110 lots and USD 550 cashback. A 1-pip spread allowance costs USD 1,100, leaving USD 550 of spread cost before commissions and other charges. These are hypothetical amounts.

For USD/JPY, one standard lot has JPY 1,000 per pip. At an illustrative conversion of USD 0.0067 per JPY, that is USD 6.70 per pip. Changing an account-currency label alone cannot perform this conversion; the required rate must change too.

Check the program before counting a saving

Programs can pay per lot, per notional volume or a percentage of commissions. This pip model does not reproduce a tiered per-million schedule automatically. For example, OANDA US describes a volume-based program with eligibility exclusions and monthly review. Read the terms for the actual legal entity and account rather than treating this example as an offer.

Compare spread, commission, financing and execution on the same instrument and volume basis. No claim is made that a rebate arrangement leaves fills or pricing unchanged. A larger rebate from additional trades can be smaller than their added costs and losses. This calculator does not recommend increasing trading activity.

OANDA explains pip conventions; use your broker specification for contract sizing and actual conversion. Payment timing, minimum thresholds, rounding, excluded trades and conversion fees remain outside this estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the preset spreads or rebates current offers?

No. The presets are hypothetical arithmetic examples, not broker categories or quoted programs. Replace them with the terms for your eligible account, instrument and volume period.

Does every trade qualify for cashback?

Eligibility depends on the program, jurisdiction, account and trading conditions. Minimum volume, excluded activity, tiers and payment timing can apply. This tool assumes the entered completed trades qualify; it does not check eligibility.

How does currency conversion work?

One standard lot is 100,000 base units here. Its pip value is 1,000 JPY for JPY quotes or 10 units of the other listed quote currencies. When account and quote currencies differ, enter account-currency units per one quote unit. No live FX rate is supplied.

Is a rebate profit?

It reduces an eligible cost but does not include trading price gains or losses, commission, financing, taxes or conversion fees. Trading more to receive a larger rebate also creates additional costs and market exposure.

What does the annual amount mean?

It is twelve times the monthly scenario with identical volume, rates and eligibility. It is not a forecast, compound return or guaranteed payment. Zero spread makes a percentage reduction undefined.
