What this dividend tracker calculates
This tool keeps a list of holdings in this browser and combines available USD quote snapshots with your own annual-dividend assumptions. It does not read your brokerage account, verify received payments or predict a company’s next dividend.
Enter and review a holding
- Enter the exact ticker, a positive share count and average cost per share in USD. Fractional shares are allowed.
- Optionally enter annual dividend per share in USD after reviewing the issuer’s announcements. A single quarterly payment is not an annual amount. Leave the field blank if uncertain; enter zero only for an explicit zero-dividend scenario.
- Check the returned company name and currency. The calculator uses USD-quoted listings only; unavailable or other-currency data stays blank.
- Use Add or replace holding to update a ticker. Confirm before replacing its saved inputs. Refresh data requests new snapshots; it does not update your dividend assumption.
Income and yield formulas
Annual income scenario = shares × assumed annual dividend per share. Market value = shares × quote. Scenario dividend yield = annual income ÷ market value × 100. Yield on cost = annual income ÷ entered cost basis × 100. A zero denominator has no defined yield.
For an illustrative holding of 100 shares bought at $20, an assumed $1 annual dividend per share gives $100 annual income and 5% yield on cost. At a $25 quote, value is $2,500 and scenario dividend yield is 4%. These are arithmetic assumptions, not observed returns. Yield on cost excludes price gains and losses and is not total return.
Missing data and scenario limits
A dash means unavailable, not zero. Portfolio totals appear only when all required holdings have usable data. Dividends can change, and special payments may not recur. The calculation does not model taxes, currency conversion, reinvestment, corporate actions, fees or payment eligibility. Annual income divided by twelve would be an average, not a payment schedule.
Storage and data requests
Shares, average cost and dividend assumptions are stored in this browser’s local storage. Tickers are sent to Pineify’s market-data endpoints, which use Financial Modeling Prep. The tool does not intentionally send share counts or cost inputs with those requests; this is not a claim that the whole site has no analytics or network logs.
Clearing site storage, using another browser or private browsing can remove or isolate holdings. Export a JSON backup before clearing storage. There is no automatic cross-device sync or backup import. If saved data cannot be read, saving is disabled to preserve it and edits remain in memory.
