What is Company Employee Count Data?
This lookup displays historical workforce records returned by FMP's historical employee count endpoint. It does not collect live payroll data or calculate hiring and layoff events. A count describes a reporting period; the filing and acceptance dates describe when the disclosure entered the filing process. Check the linked report for whether the figure covers full-time staff, part-time staff, or another definition. Differences in scope can make two companies' totals unsuitable for direct comparison.

Why Track Company Employee Count?
Changes to Investigate
Rising headcount may reflect hiring or an acquisition. A decline can reflect a disposal, outsourcing, or layoffs. Read the filing before assigning a cause.
Competitive Analysis
Compare matching periods and employee definitions. Revenue per employee also requires separate revenue data; this page does not calculate it or establish operational efficiency.
