TradingView Alert Message Generator

Build a message template for a separately configured TradingView alert. The output contains placeholders, not sample market data. This page does not detect signals or send notifications.

This is text you choose, not a detected position or an order action.

Named plots require an indicator with matching titles. Custom mode copies your text unchanged; other controls do not alter it.

Prepare the message and the alert separately

  1. Choose a template. Entry, exit, breakout and reversal are message titles only; they do not define or detect a condition.
  2. Leave the symbol blank to use the alert symbol placeholder, or enter literal text. Select the fields and an optional literal direction label.
  3. Enable stop-loss or take-profit fields only if your selected indicator exposes plots with those exact titles. The page does not calculate levels or create orders.
  4. Copy the template or download the text file. In TradingView, create the alert, choose the actual condition and configure its frequency and expiry.
  5. Paste into the alert's editable Message field where placeholders are supported. Choose an available notification method, then test the received text before relying on it.

Know which values TradingView will resolve

The close, open, high, low and volume fields refer to the triggering bar. Bar time and alert firing time are different. Simple price alerts use one-minute bars; indicator alerts depend on their selected context. Named-plot placeholders require the corresponding indicator output. There are no general built-in price, direction, ATR, change or strategy-name placeholders with the names previously listed on this page.

Strategy order-fill alerts can use strategy-specific placeholders such as the order action or fill price; an order action of buy does not always mean opening a long. Script alert() messages are constructed by the script, not by substituting these message-field placeholders. After changing script inputs or chart context, recreate affected script alerts so their server snapshot reflects the change.

Webhook messages need a separate integration

This generator produces plain text. A receiver may require a specific JSON schema, authentication and duplicate-event handling. TradingView sends valid JSON with an application/json content type and other text as text/plain. Webhooks require two-factor authentication and can fail; inspect the alert log. Do not put account credentials into a message. No broker execution or delivery guarantee is provided here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this page create a TradingView alert?

No. It builds plain-text messages locally. Create the alert and its condition in TradingView, paste the message into the editable Message field, and verify a triggered notification. The page does not connect to your account or place trades.

Why does the output still contain double braces?

Those are TradingView placeholders, not preview prices. In a supported alert message, TradingView replaces them when the alert fires. A custom message is copied unchanged. Unknown placeholders are not validated or calculated by this page.

Do the stop-loss and take-profit options calculate levels?

No. They insert named-plot placeholders for indicator plots titled exactly Stop Loss and Take Profit. Enable them only when the selected indicator supplies those outputs among its supported plots. They do not submit protective orders.

Can I paste this into an alert() Pine message or a trading bot?

These templates target alert message fields that support placeholders. An alert() call constructs its dynamic message in Pine; placeholders are not substituted there. A bot also needs its own payload schema and order handling. Plain text from this page is not a validated broker or webhook command.

Can I force two decimal places with this tool?

No. TradingView controls placeholder numeric formatting. This page removes the old decimal selector because changing a sample number did not change the delivered alert value. Custom Pine string formatting requires separate script implementation and testing.
