Congress Trading Trackers: Compare Coverage and Evidence

A useful congress tracker preserves the source filing, dates, owner and reported amount range. Evaluate those fields before comparing alerts or subscription prices. This is a documentation-based selection framework, not a hands-on speed benchmark, complete-coverage certification or profitability ranking.

Start with a reproducible sample

Choose filings from both chambers, several dates and at least one amendment. Compare the original document with each tracker’s issuer, security, owner, transaction date, filing date, type and amount range. Record missing and mismatched fields. A polished dashboard does not establish complete coverage.

Compare clocks rather than a real-time badge

Measure transaction-to-filing delay separately from filing-publication-to-provider-ingestion and provider-to-notification delay. House guidance requires covered transactions above $1,000 to be reported by the earlier of 30 days after awareness or 45 days after the transaction. A fast notification cannot erase the earlier reporting delay.

Official sources and provider documentation

The House Clerk and Senate are source-record channels. Capitol Trades describes public access to a congressional-disclosure interface; Quiver documents congressional data and an API; Unusual Whales documents congressional and market-data services. Check current coverage, terms and entitlements directly. No relative alert speed, archive completeness or absence of APIs is established here.

Require evidence for any performance display

Ask whether a return uses transaction date or first public availability, how amount ranges became weights, how amendments and missing sells were handled, and whether fees and delisted securities are included. A reconstructed portfolio is not the lawmaker’s verified brokerage account. This page does not support the former claim of a 2023 study proving 2–3% annual outperformance.

Inspect Pineify’s available workflow

Pineify Market Insights has a Congress tab with available recent and late-report records, name/ticker searches, party and chamber filters, and buy/sell filtering. The default request is limited to 200 rows; counts describe the loaded and filtered sample, not every congressional transaction. The active view polls periodically, while the server can reuse cached data. Full access requires Expert or above. This is a Pineify dashboard, not a native TradingView overlay or an established push-alert service.
