Pineify vs The Optimiser: TradingView Search and Test Methods

The Optimiser and Pineify automate tests of existing TradingView strategies. Their search configuration and result handling matter more than an unsupported claim that one always finds better settings. This page focuses on running a reproducible experiment; the linked broader comparison covers access and switching workflows.

This is Pineify’s comparison, not an independent speed, accuracy, or return benchmark. Check current plans and the exact functions you need.

Know which search you are running

The Optimiser’s developer listing describes brute-force, sequential, random and annealing approaches. It is not limited to exhaustive grid search. Pineify’s reviewed optimizer enumerates selected parameter combinations; genetic optimization is not established by that implementation.

An exhaustive grid checks all allowed combinations only if it completes successfully. A heuristic may inspect a subset and can depend on its starting point or random choices. Neither approach guarantees a profitable strategy or the best possible setting outside the specified search space.

Define a useful search space

Use values justified by the rule’s mechanism. Six inputs with ten values each produce 1,000,000 combinations. That count is arithmetic, not a runtime benchmark or a reason to expand the test indefinitely. Fix irrelevant inputs and use a small initial experiment to check that changes are applied correctly.

Record the selection metric and minimum trade count before ranking results. A very high win rate from a tiny sample, or a large profit obtained with disproportionate exposure, is not directly comparable with a constrained strategy. Examine drawdown and nearby parameter values as well as the top row.

Separate an out-of-sample split from rolling validation

The Optimiser’s change notes describe in-sample and out-of-sample testing with a TradingView deep-testing prerequisite. That is evidence of a split-test feature, not proof of an automatic rolling walk-forward scheduler. This page does not assert such a scheduler for either product.

Write down which dates select parameters and which dates evaluate them. For a rolling study, repeat that separation for each window and preserve the individual results. Once you repeatedly alter rules based on an evaluation period, it is no longer untouched evidence.

Reconcile results before trusting the ranking

Run the same script version, chart type, symbol, timeframe and date range with matching capital, sizing, commission and slippage. Manually reproduce a few candidate rows and compare entries and exits. Identify interrupted or missing runs before computing the ranking.

Both workflows depend on TradingView behavior. Run competing automation separately and recheck compatibility after platform updates. Two extensions collecting the same Strategy Tester output are not two independent market simulators.

Use report analysis for the question it answers

Pineify’s Backtest Deep Report is a separate workflow that can resample closed-trade P&L with replacement. It explores variation under the supplied sample and assumptions; it is not automatic validation of every optimizer run or proof of statistical significance.

No thirty-second generation test, week-long personal review, speed improvement or trading outcome is claimed here. For a purchase decision, check current access and any platform prerequisites after verifying the workflow on a small reproducible example.

Questions before switching

No. Its developer listing describes several search methods.

No. A split evaluates one held-out period; a rolling study repeats training and later evaluation across multiple windows.

No. A heuristic does not guarantee the global best result, and Pineify’s reviewed optimizer is not claimed to use genetic search.

They can help detect configuration or collection errors, but shared TradingView output is not independent execution-model evidence.

No. Inspect sample size, selection bias, costs and untouched observations. Resampling cannot generate evidence about every future market regime.
