TradingView Reports — Pineify Access Explained

Free TradingView Reports and Paid CSV Analysis

Start with the built-in TradingView strategy report to inspect profit, drawdown, trade statistics and risk ratios. Available history and export access depend on your TradingView account. You do not need Pineify to read that report.

Pineify Backtest Deep Report is a separate paid workflow requiring Advanced or higher access. Import the List of trades CSV for browser-based trade analysis and bootstrap simulation. A screenshot cannot supply the trade history these calculations need.

Questions to Ask Beyond a Summary Number

Start with the native report, then decide whether reviewing exported trade data answers an additional question.

📉

Inspect the Equity Path

Net profit alone does not describe the equity path. Review drawdown and the concentration of losses before comparing parameter sets.

📊

Compare Metric Conventions

TradingView already includes risk ratios. When comparing them with CSV-derived metrics, align date ranges, capital assumptions and calculation conventions.

🎲

Is It Luck or Edge?

Profit factor, expectancy and win rate summarize the observed sample. Check trade count, costs and a separate holdout period before interpreting the result.

How It Works

Export trades, verify the import, then review the analysis with Advanced or higher access.

01

Run Your Backtest on TradingView

Run the strategy and export the List of trades CSV. Keep the symbol, interval, period, capital, commission and slippage settings with the file.

02

Import the Trade-List CSV

Sign in with Advanced or higher access and import the CSV. Confirm parsed trades and initial capital before interpreting the browser-calculated metrics.

03

Review the Report

Review trade metrics, the equity path and bootstrap simulations. Optional AI analysis sends a report summary for interpretation; it is separate from local calculations.

Trade-Level Metrics Included in Every Report

Metrics describe the imported trades under the selected calculation settings. Check data completeness before comparing reports.

Net Profit & Return %

Absolute and percentage return over the backtest period.

Sharpe Ratio

Calculated from trade percentages, with a trade-frequency annualization. Match the return series, period and risk-free units before comparing platforms.

Sortino Ratio

Uses negative trade percentages in its downside denominator. That differs from all-period target-deviation conventions; do not compare labels alone.

Equity & Max Drawdown

Drawdown of accumulated imported trade results in entry-sorted order. Overlapping exits and floating losses require a separate equity reconstruction.

Profit Factor

Gross profit divided by gross loss in the imported sample; inspect trade count and costs alongside it.

Win Rate & Expectancy

Percentage of winning trades and average dollar value per trade taken.

Consecutive Wins/Losses

Observed consecutive positive or negative trade results in the parsed order; this is not a forecast of the next streak.

Average Trade Duration

Mean duration of the included trade records. Open positions, partial exits and missing timestamps need separate reconciliation.

Average Win / Average Loss

Compare average winning and losing trade P&L without inferring an optimal live position size.

Who This Is For

A CSV review can support different research tasks when the underlying trade data is complete.

Research workflow

Retail Trader Learning Backtesting

You've built your first strategy on TradingView and want to understand whether the results are meaningful. The report explains each metric clearly so you can learn while you evaluate.

Research workflow

Systematic Trader Validating Strategies

Compare multiple CSV reports using matching date ranges, costs and capital assumptions. Check each import before interpreting differences in Sharpe, Sortino or drawdown.

Report workflow

Pine Script Developer Building for Clients

You need to present strategy performance in a professional format. The report gives you a structured output you can share with clients or include in strategy documentation.

When You Might Not Need This

Honest assessment — not every trader needs a deep report.

  • ⚠️You are exploring, not deciding. If you are checking a few signals or fill assumptions, the native report and chart may answer the question. Export only when a separate analysis serves a defined research task.
  • ⚠️You already export to a spreadsheet. If you have a custom analytics workflow that already computes the metrics you care about, the report duplicates your existing setup. Reconcile a known sample before changing an established workflow; a different interface is not proof of better estimates.
  • ⚠️You need parameter optimization, not analysis. If you already know your strategy has a good structure but want to compare declared input ranges, the Backtest Deep Report is not the right tool. Use Pineify's Strategy Optimizer for that instead.

Check Access and Export Format at the Source

TradingView lists basic metrics, advanced metrics, trade CSV and report XLSX as separate features in its plan comparison. Its CSV export instructions distinguish trade rows from summary metrics; the strategy documentation explains the simulated report and fill assumptions. Confirm the features available in your account rather than assuming every report or export is free.

Pineify access, import, metric and optional AI-request behavior were checked against the current implementation on October 21, 2026. A report describes the data supplied; it does not validate a strategy or reconstruct missing market information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about TradingView reports and Pineify access.

Open the CSV Report Workflow

Advanced or higher access is required. Export the trade list first, verify the parsed sample, and review what the calculations can and cannot establish.

Need parameter search? Pineify Strategy Optimizer also requires Advanced or higher access and compares declared parameter ranges. Evaluate candidate settings on a separate period yourself.
