TradingView Broker Integration: Where Pine Script Fits
TradingView offers manual trading through supported broker connections. Pine strategy orders are different: they run in a broker emulator. Automating a real account from Pine alerts requires a separate execution service or a receiver you operate. Pineify can help draft the source and message; it does not provide that broker bridge.
Three separate responsibilities
The script calculates a condition or simulated fill. TradingView sends an alert to a configured endpoint. The receiver validates and maps the message to an authorized broker order. A successful webhook response is not proof of a fill, and a strategy backtest is not a live account ledger. Account, instrument, order-type and regional support must be checked with the specific broker and connector.
How It Works
- 1
Specify the signal and its timing. Distinguish a condition becoming true from an order filled by the TradingView broker emulator.
- 2
Use Pineify to draft the Pine logic. Review the source, compile it and test costs, sizing and order timing in TradingView.
- 3
Select a receiver with documented support for the exact broker account and asset. Confirm symbols, contract multipliers, quantity units, allowed order types and position reconciliation.
- 4
Enter the receiver-provided URL into the TradingView alert webhook field. TradingView sends the POST to the bridge; the bridge does not point at a TradingView webhook server. Confirm your account has webhook access and two-factor authentication.
- 5
Send test events to a demo or paper execution environment. Check malformed values, duplicate events, stale timestamps, rejected orders and mismatched positions.
- 6
Recreate the TradingView alert after changing source or inputs: its server-side snapshot does not update with the chart. Monitor delivery, broker acknowledgments and fills separately.
Different layers in the workflow
| Feature | Pineify Coding Agent | PineConnector | TradersPost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Role | Draft and revise Pine logic and alert text | Routes TradingView alerts to MetaTrader; current site emphasizes MT5 and hosted Edge | Routes supported signal sources to supported broker connections |
| Broker connection | No broker bridge provided by this coding workflow | Verify supported MetaTrader setup and broker instrument mapping | Official connections list includes Interactive Brokers; check account and asset restrictions |
| Message handling | Code must match the receiver schema | Uses its documented command format | Uses its documented webhook format |
| Cost boundary | Pineify plan terms apply separately | Connector, account and hosting terms depend on chosen setup | Connector plan and broker/data costs are separate |
Example Research Tasks
Map a MetaTrader symbol
Example question
“How do I send an RSI condition to an MT5 demo account?”
Illustrative response
Define whether the event is a threshold cross or a persistent condition. Map the TradingView instrument to the broker symbol and quantity unit. Check the actual demo order and position before enabling automation; no setup-time estimate is implied.
Choose an order event
Example question
“Should a breakout alert fire at bar close or simulated fill?”
Illustrative response
Document the intended event, price type and stale-event policy. Compare alert timestamps with emulator fills and receiver acknowledgments. These times can differ.
Operate a custom receiver
Example question
“Can I use my own webhook endpoint?”
Illustrative response
Yes, if you implement the receiver, broker integration and operational controls. Self-hosted software still entails hosting, monitoring, maintenance and applicable market-data/account costs. Pineify does not host this receiver.
