Forex Pivot Point Calculator
Calculate daily pivot points and support/resistance levels for forex trading. Supports Classic, Camarilla, Woodie, and Fibonacci methods.
Classic Method
PP = (previous High + Low + Close) / 3. Classic R3/S3 are two ranges above/below PP.

Use one completed session and a stated formula
Enter high, low and close from the same completed forex session. Select a method, then compare the displayed levels with your chart. Woodie also needs the current session open, which can lie outside the previous range. This page calculates from your inputs; it does not download live quotes or place orders.
Daily candles can differ across broker feeds, session boundaries and timezone settings. Record those settings with your inputs before comparing two charts. A 5 p.m. New York boundary is a local-time convention, not a fixed 5 p.m. EST boundary throughout the year.
What each calculation returns
Let H, L and C be the previous session prices, O the current session open, and D = H − L. The calculator displays R1–R3 and S1–S3 for Classic, Woodie and Fibonacci, and adds R4/S4 for Camarilla. Display rounding does not change the underlying arithmetic.
- Classic: P = (H + L + C) / 3; R1 = 2P − L and S1 = 2P − H. The second pair is P ± D and the third pair is P ± 2D.
- Camarilla: P is the H/L/C average; the four level pairs are C ± 1.1D divided by 12, 6, 4 and 2 respectively.
- Woodie: P = (H + L + 2O) / 4. R1/S1 and R2/S2 use the same forms as Classic. R3 = H + 2(P − L); S3 = L − 2(H − P).
- Fibonacci: P is the H/L/C average, with level pairs P ± 0.382D, P ± 0.618D and P ± D.
These conventions follow TradingView’s Pivot Points Standard documentation. Traditional and Classic have different third levels; a close-weighted formula sometimes labeled Woodie elsewhere will also differ from the current-open convention used here.
Check the arithmetic before testing a trading rule
Load Example supplies H = 1.0875, L = 1.0825, C = 1.0855 and O = 1.0860. Classic P is approximately 1.08516667 and D is 0.0050. R3 is approximately 1.09516667; S3 is approximately 1.07516667. Woodie P is 1.0855. These are hypothetical inputs, not a trade or performance test.
A level only identifies a price. A bounce or breakout hypothesis still needs an exact trigger, fill timing, stop rule, position size and cost model. Preserve losing cases and test a separate sample before drawing conclusions about effectiveness. Combining a pivot with RSI or another indicator does not by itself establish a stronger signal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which session prices should I enter?
Use the high, low and close of one completed session from the same feed. For Woodie, also enter the next session open. Keep the broker timezone and session definition fixed; New York local time changes with daylight saving time.
Why do my levels differ from TradingView?
Compare the selected formula, pivot timeframe, feed and daily-based setting. This calculator uses the TradingView Classic, Camarilla, Woodie and Fibonacci conventions for the levels shown. It does not fetch or reconstruct chart data.
Which pivot method is best?
No performance comparison is established here. Each method transforms the supplied prices differently. Choose a rule before testing it with costs and a separate evaluation sample; changing methods after seeing a result can bias the comparison.
Do these levels predict reversals?
No. They are arithmetic reference levels, not probabilities or orders. Price may cross any level, and a gap can pass a planned stop. A trading rule needs independently defined entries, exits, sizing and execution assumptions.
