Options Chart Analysis: Separate the Chart from the Contract

Review visible underlying structure, then verify the option contract separately. A correct chart interpretation does not establish a profitable options position.

Separate These Questions

Identify whether the screenshot is the underlying or a specific option contract.
Keep strike, expiry, call or put, and quote timestamp with any option-price observation.
Do not interpret a model score as an option win probability.
Calculate the contract payoff and execution costs separately from chart support or resistance.

Start by identifying which chart you uploaded

Underlying price and option premium are different series

A stock or ETF chart can provide context for a directional scenario. It does not show the current price of a particular option, its implied volatility, Greeks, or available bid and ask. An option-premium chart instead refers to a specific contract; retain its underlying, call or put type, strike, expiration, and price basis. Pineify reads visible image content and does not retrieve an option chain automatically for this report.

A correct direction can still lose money

Greeks matter even when the underlying moves as expected

An option price responds to time, implied volatility, and other pricing inputs as well as the underlying. Delta is a local sensitivity, not a fixed multiplier for a large future move; gamma describes how delta changes. Theta and vega can offset a favorable directional move. The OIC describes Greeks as theoretical estimates, not guarantees of exact premium changes. A candlestick pattern does not establish implied volatility or the change in a specific contract’s premium.

Test a strike with a payoff calculation

Support does not automatically create a profitable spread

For a purely synthetic example, sell a 100-strike put and buy a 95-strike put with the same expiration for a net credit of 1.00 per share. Assuming a 100-share multiplier, intact legs, and standard expiration payoff mechanics, maximum gain is 100 USD, maximum loss is (100 − 95 − 1) × 100 = 400 USD, and breakeven is 99. At an underlying expiration price of 98, payoff is [1 − (100 − 98)] × 100 = −100 USD before costs. A chart support line at 100 does not change those amounts or prove that the premium compensates for the risk. Early assignment, settlement, broker handling, and a leg that is closed or expires differently require separate review.

Keep the observation time separate from expiration

A chart interval is not days to expiration

A daily or 15-minute chart is an aggregation of price history. Neither identifies the option’s expiration. A contract described as 0DTE expires that day; buying a contract two sessions before it expires is not a 0DTE entry. Compare the same contract and quote timestamps when analyzing premium changes. A difference between two premiums cannot be attributed entirely to theta without controlling for the underlying, implied volatility, and other inputs.

Inspect execution and contract details separately

The screenshot cannot supply missing chain data

Check expiration, exercise style, settlement, multiplier, bid, ask, quote time, and liquidity for the specific contract. Do not assume an index option and an equity option share the same terms. A proposed underlying entry or stop is not an option order price. Define whether an exit depends on the underlying, premium, time, or another rule, and test that rule with appropriate historical contract data and costs.

Use Pineify for the visible chart interpretation

No options win-rate benchmark is claimed

Submit one PNG, JPEG, or WebP screenshot up to 3 MB after signing in and checking eligible paid access and daily allowance. The image is uploaded for AI analysis, and the result is saved to account history. It can include visible structure, candidate patterns, suggested prices, risks, and uncertainty. Unreadable prices may remain unavailable. Scores are model assessments, not calibrated probabilities of a profitable options trade. Verify the report before using its observations as one input to separate options research.

Options outcomes depend on the contract, premium, time, volatility, and execution as well as the underlying. A screenshot report cannot establish a profitable position or manage assignment.
