Stock screener comparison

Choose a stock screener you can verify

A stock screener should return a reproducible set of candidates that matches your criteria. AI can assist with interpreting requests or ranking securities, but neither function proves investment quality. This documentation-based comparison covers seven services; it does not claim hands-on latency tests, predictive superiority or a cheapest plan. Pineify publishes this comparison.

Match the tool to the output

These descriptions use the official pages linked below, checked October 20, 2026. Unlisted capabilities are unverified rather than unavailable. Plan details can change.

ServiceDocumented workflowCheck for your task
PineifyFree company-data filters; a separate AI Stock Picker displays Danelfin ratings.Confirm the filters actually returned the intended universe. Check AI dataset date and account access separately.
Finviz EliteAdvanced screens, real-time stock quotes, export, email alerts and push notifications.Check the specific filter, session, data delay and trial renewal terms. It is incorrect to describe Elite as having no real-time alerts.
Trade IdeasStock scanning, Holly AI signals and historical strategy testing; its site also exposes Trade Ideas GPT.Verify the current plan, supported broker and alert output. No sub-second latency result is established here.
DanelfinAI Score and component assessments with a stated three-month relative-outperformance objective.Check score date, universe and benchmark; it is not a general intraday scanner definition.
TipRanksA quantitative Smart Score based on eight factors and associated research/screening tools.Distinguish rating criteria from a live trading signal; inspect backtest disclosures.
Market ChameleonOptions trade and volatility screens, including documented IV-relative comparisons.Check contract, expiration, IV definition, delay and subscription access for the particular report.
TickeronStock screening, pattern and trend tools, and trading-agent products.Check which product produced the result, its timeframe and whether performance is historical or executed.

Write one screen before comparing products

Example research specification: US-listed common stocks, price above $10, market capitalization above $2 billion, and positive trailing earnings. These are illustrative choices, not quality thresholds or a recommended portfolio. Define whether endpoints are inclusive, whether ETFs and ADRs are excluded, and how stale or missing values are handled.

  • Run the same conditions at a recorded time and save the returned list.
  • Manually inspect several matches and nonmatches against the source data.
  • Identify result limits and pagination before calling the list market-wide.
  • If a field is unsupported, record that limitation instead of silently substituting a different condition.

Natural-language input still needs a visible specification

A request such as “cheap technology stocks with improving earnings” is ambiguous. Cheap could mean price, P/E, enterprise-value multiples or a valuation estimate; improving requires a comparison period. Ask the tool to expose the translated fields, units and dates. Then verify the returned records. A chatbot interface alone does not establish arbitrary Boolean screening or lower error rates.

Check data age separately from refresh frequency

A page refreshing every few seconds can still display delayed quotes or quarterly fundamentals. Record the quote timestamp, fiscal period, filing date and score publication date. For alerts, distinguish a condition becoming true, detection, notification delivery and your eventual execution. This comparison has not measured those latencies across vendors.

Pineify workflow and limits

The free company screener requests company data and adds available quote, financial-metric and analyst-estimate information. Enrichment can be missing. It does not establish that free results contain AI Scores, options Greeks or dark-pool activity. The separate AI Stock Picker uses stored Danelfin data with plan-dependent visibility. Other research tools have their own datasets and timing; their existence does not make them model inputs or filters in the free screener.

Evaluate usefulness without claiming a return advantage

Start by measuring whether the output satisfies the saved screen and whether it can be reproduced. If you later evaluate investment results, preserve point-in-time inputs, failed securities, costs and the complete selection rule. A screen that is easier to use is not necessarily a model with better predictive performance. Check current checkout terms instead of comparing unsupported prices or assuming every feature is included.
